The Ecosystem Exploration of Rural India was a research journey which we feel was essential to understand the rural ecosystem. This will focus on identifying the touch points, where appropriate solutions can intervene immediately. These solutions may or may not be technology based. The learning will facilitate offerings of products & services for an adequate Lifestyle Experience and strategy to alleviate the quality of life of rural India.
The exploration Phase –I started in Bhopal and ended in Hyderabad. The explorers spend 11 days travelling 2800 kilo meters through small villages by road, covering parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.
The Ecosystem Exploration of Rural India Phase –II started from Noida and travelled 1500 Kilo meters through small villages and towns by road covering through parts of UP, Uttaranchal and Haryana and was ended in New Delhi.
Total 100+ interviews (ethnographic research and contextual enquiry format) were conducted with various subjects covering across the age, gender, profession etc.) to understand their living and socio-economic and socio-cultural context and indentify touch points in the eco-system where design and technology could intervene. The research date is still under analysis and evaluated.
