Conference Poster Design Competition

Show the world the creativity you’ve got!

The USID Foundation India’s Poster Design Competition for USID 2010 is your chance to share your passion for color, composition, and creativity to the world and also earn a good prize and visibility.  If you’re a pursuing a creative education such as student of Design, Arts, Architecture etc. , let the theme of the USID2010  “Designing Consumer Experience for the Emerging Markets & Beyond…” inspire you to design a poster that showcases your talent and communicate the conference theme to the world. See if your work captures the imagination of the design professionals who’ll judge the submission based on originality, visual impact, and demonstration of basic design concepts. The three best posters will be used for the USID2010 events. The best poster will also be used as the main poster of the USID2010 Conference.

The conference theme

Designing Consumer Experience for Emerging Markets & Beyond...

Life, culture, and context of use for end users in the emerging markets are different to users in markets such as Europe and America. Therefore it is not necessary that the product which is successful in other parts of the world will also be successful in the markets of emerging economies. It is critical that professionals and organizations must research and understand the culture, context and needs of these people before they design any products, applications, or services for emerging markets.

Poster Specification

Full Dimensions          : 12” x 18”
Folded Dimension      : 4” x 6”

  • The poster front side must incorporate the theme: “Designing Consumer Experience for the Emerging Markets & Beyond…”
  • The poster should be designed for both sides. The back side of the poster should be used for information related to Conference Schedule, Venue, About Hyderabad, About USID Foundation and any other details designers will like to include.
  • he poster should be design for folding so the creative folding and opening will be important criteria for judging.

Who can participate?

The USID2010 conference poster design competition is open to all full time students perusing design education.

Ist Prize : Rs. 5000 + Certificate + Free Registration to the USID2010
2nd Prize : Rs. 3000 + Certificate + Free Registration to the USID2010
3rd Prize : Rs. 2000 + Certificate + Free Registration to the USID2010


Deadlines

All complete entries must be received by March 31st, 2010. The winner will be notified by the USID Foundation by 15th April, 2010.

How to Enter?

Fill out, sign, and scan the Competition Entry Form and then email along with a designer’s statement in Microsoft Word format, and one poster design in JPEG format to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The email’s subject line must contain your name and the name of your institute name. The size of your email must not exceed 10MB. Incomplete entry submissions will be disqualified. The USID Foundation will not be responsible for any lost, incomplete, or stolen entries. All decisions made by the jury are final and non disputable in all levels of the competition.

Entry Requirements and Criteria

  • Compress all files being submitted so that all files together do not exceed 10 MB. Submissions exceeding 10 MB will not be received. Submission tip: The total size of all files in your submission prior to compression should not exceed 25 MB.
  • An original poster design incorporating the theme “Designing Consumer Experience for the Emerging Markets & Beyond…” Poster size cannot exceed 12" x 18" (full size) and 4” x6 “(Folded size) and must be submitted in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
  • The poster should be design for folding so the creative folding and opening will be important criteria for judging.
  • A typed designer’s statement in Microsoft Word format explaining the design concept
  • A signed and completed Entry & Release Form, must also meet the following criteria:
  • The competition is open to all full time students perusing design education.
  • Student submissions should show an understanding of the theme “Designing Consumer Experience for the Emerging Markets & Beyond…” basic design concepts, and a keen eye for design.
  • The poster must incorporate the theme: “Designing Consumer Experience for the Emerging Markets & Beyond…”
  • The poster must include USID Foundation India Logo as well as USID2010 Logo The logos may be found and downloaded at www.usidfoundation.org/usidlogos. The logos must appear in full. Judging points may be deducted if logos are altered
  • The poster must have place for placing the logos (around 6 Logos) of the sponsor of USID2010 conference.
  • Entries must be appropriate for promotional/marketing purposes.
  • Entries deemed vulgar or offensive will be disqualified.
  • Artwork must be original and not copied from any other published sources, including books or magazines.
  • No copyrighted, animated, or team-created work will be accepted. Entries containing copyrighted materials will be disqualified.
  • Original artwork or submissions will not be returned.
  • All entries should be readable in PC format (i.e., with correct file extensions.
